Overview

DIAS Infrared Systems

DIAS Infrared GmbH, headquartered in Dresden, Germany, is a specialist manufacturer of industrial infrared temperature measurement systems. Founded in 1992, the company designs, manufactures, and supports its products from a single facility — from sensor design to software development to calibration. The product line covers everything from single-point pyrometers to complete custom system solutions for demanding industrial processes.

ARS Technical Sales Corp serves as the exclusive representative for the full DIAS product line across the United States and Canada. Phil Gregor additionally serves as President of DIAS Infrared Corp., the company’s wholly owned North American subsidiary — making ARS not merely a sales representative but the operational center of DIAS’s entire North American business.

PYROLINE Infrared Line Cameras

Single-row line scanning cameras for continuous temperature profile measurement across a moving web, strip, or surface. Used where a full 2D camera is unnecessary or impractical but a single-point pyrometer provides insufficient spatial coverage.

    • Paper and web processing: surface temperature monitoring across web width
    • Conveyor-based heat treatment lines

PYROSPOT Pyrometers

Fixed-mount digital spot pyrometers in multiple spectral ranges to match specific material emissivity characteristics. DIAS pyrometers are available in three broad spectral groups to address the full range of industrial measurement materials.

Near Infrared (Series 54/56) 0.8 – 1.1 µm • For metals (steel, aluminum, copper) • 200°C – 3000°C
Short-wave infrared 1.45 – 1.8 µm • Semi-transparent materials, thin metals • 75°C – 1800°C
Mid Infrared (~5 µm) For glass measurement through glass surface emission • 100°C – 2500°C
Long-wave (8 – 14 µm) For non-metals, coated materials, plastics, organics • −40°C – 1000°C
Output options 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, RS-485, Modbus, Profibus, alarm outputs
Response time As low as 10 ms depending on model

PYROSPOT Portable Pyrometers (Series 80)

Handheld portable pyrometers with integrated TFT color video display for precise aiming and measurement verification. Available in single-wavelength and two-color ratio configurations.

Display Integrated color video TFT, 720p for target aiming and temperature display
Temperature range 200°C – 2500°C depending on model
Two-color ratio option For metals where emissivity is variable or surface condition uncertain; ratio measurement largely independent of emissivity
Response time 10 ms minimum
Optics Focusable, distance ratios to 200:1
Data storage 999 records internal; USB interface for PC download
Applications Field verification, incoming inspection, portable process monitoring

Infrared Detectors and Arrays

Pyroelectric detector elements and linear arrays for spectroscopy, NDIR gas analysis, and custom OEM sensing applications. Available as single-element TO-can detectors and linear arrays up to 510 pixels.

Array formats Linear arrays: 1 to 510 pixels
Filter options Available with integrated bandpass filters including linear variable filters for spectroscopy
Single-element detectors TO-can format, single and multi-spectral configurations
Evaluation kit Available for development and prototyping
Applications NDIR gas analysis (CO2, CO, hydrocarbons), spectroscopy, thermal reference sensors, medical diagnostics

Blackbody Calibration Sources

Laboratory and industrial blackbody calibration sources for verifying and calibrating infrared instruments. Available in a range of temperatures and aperture sizes. Traceable calibration certificates available.

PYROSOFT Software

PYROSOFT Compact Standard instrument control, image display, data recording, alarm management
PYROSOFT Professional Advanced analysis functions, process data correlation, extended multi-camera support
PYROSOFT Automation Process integration for automated lines; WAGO and standard PLC interfaces

System Solutions

DIAS designs and delivers complete custom measurement systems integrating cameras, pyrometers, software, and process control interfaces for complex industrial applications. System projects include project planning, software development, installation support, startup, and ongoing maintenance.

ARS Technical Sales coordinates all North American system projects directly with DIAS engineering in Dresden. For customers requiring a complete turnkey infrared measurement solution rather than individual instruments, this is the appropriate starting point.

Why DIAS Infrared

Built in Germany. Supported from the source.

DIAS designs, manufactures, calibrates, and supports its entire product line from a single facility in Dresden. No outsourced manufacturing, no third-party software, no distributed support chain. When a technical question requires an engineering answer, it comes from the team that built the instrument.

ARS is the North American operation

ARS Technical Sales Corp does not simply represent DIAS — Phil Gregor is President of DIAS Infrared Corp., the company’s wholly owned North American subsidiary. System project coordination, technical escalations, custom product discussions, and application support all go directly through Phil to the DIAS engineering team in Dresden. That is a materially different relationship than a traditional manufacturer’s representative.

Spectral range matched to your material

DIAS offers standard cameras and pyrometers across six spectral ranges — from 0.8 µm NIR for metals and high-temperature glass to 8–14 µm long-wave for non-metals and coated surfaces. Selecting the right spectral range for a specific material and temperature is a technical decision, not a catalog lookup. Phil has made that determination across steel, glass, automotive, forging, and R&D applications.

Experience from the plant floor, not the brochure

Phil’s infrared background predates the merger that created the modern thermal imaging industry. He coordinated industrial infrared applications at AGEMA Infrared Systems and FLIR before founding ARS — which means he understands the difference between what a camera spec sheet says and what a continuous casting line or float glass bath actually demands.
